Welcome to GWIB at Texas McCombs!

Graduate Women in Business (GWIB) is McCombs’ principal organization for empowering women in the MBA program and for promoting gender equity in the workplace and beyond.

GWIB’s goals are to:

  • Amplify & celebrate the diversity of perspectives among McCombs MBA students

  • Prepare women for successful careers at the vanguard of business leadership

  • Enhance our collective understanding of the unique challenges women face at work & in the world

Membership in our student-led organization is open to all individuals enrolled in the MBA program who are committed to supporting gender equity.

Supporting Professional And Personal Development

With 200+ members, GWIB is the largest student organization for full-time MBAs at McCombs. We offer a wealth of career development events and resources to our members. Opportunities include GWIB-exclusive employer events, skills development workshops, and a resource hub on Teams. GWIB also hosts an Women’s Business Leadership Symposium and publishes a biweekly newsletter for its members.

Building A Vibrant Community of Women and AlLies

GWIB promotes a spirit of camaraderie among our members and women in the business community in a variety of social events. Whether through the fall Welcome Dinner, our annual Holiday Party, or casual happy hours, we give our members the opportunity to connect and celebrate with each other. GWIB also organizes events in conjunction with other student organizations such as eQual MBAs and BGBA to bring visibility to pressing social issues and promote equity in the workplace.

Connecting with Women Everywhere

McCombs is a founding member of the Forté Foundation—a national non-profit organization designed to increase the number of women business owners and business leaders. All current female MBA students receive free membership to the Forté network. We have joined other educational institutions, businesses, and non-profit groups to build awareness of business education among young women, to increase the number of women entering business, and to support the careers of women through business networks.

Interested in learning more on how to join or partner with GWIB? We’d love to hear from you!
